With more than four decades of experience in construction equipment management, asset acquisition, telematics, maintenance operations, and employee mentorship, I help businesses improve equipment performance, control costs, strengthen workflows, and make better asset-management decisions.

Mentored by Gerald Lynch in construction equipment and vehicle acquisition, I developed extensive expertise in equipment maintenance, paving, asphalt compaction, and employee training.

I developed a fully functioning asset-management system using Samsara that allows more than 110 users to access information on 340 construction assets. The system enables users to obtain critical asset information within minutes, including:

• Location, current hours, mileage, photographs, dimensions, weight, bucket specifications, and other key asset details.

• Geofencing information, work-zone usage, and mobile inspection reports that can become technician work orders.

• Customized reports for accident investigations, job safety analyses, trench inspections, aerial and scissor lifts, lulls, and forklifts.

I continue to expand my knowledge of telematics and GPS electronic controls. I also use equipment data to identify underutilized assets and determine whether they should be repurposed or sold so the company can invest in equipment that is currently in demand.

When a project requires specialized rental equipment, I acquire the machine, track its performance and usage, and evaluate whether the rental should be converted into a purchase. When appropriate, I apply rental costs toward the purchase price and use tax-exempt status and certificates of insurance to reduce additional rental costs.

I also maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers nationwide to help ensure equipment, parts, and specialized services can be accessed quickly when needed.
